In making a differentiation between trans women and cis women. you might as well use the proper terms. For the sake of the respect and compassion you mention.
A woman is a female human. Cisgender women are female. Transgender women are female.
Spelling "trans woman" as one word is a trademark of exclusionists (TERFs). A trans woman is a woman of transgender experience.
Yes, ultimately, a cisgender woman is a cis woman, and a transgender woman is a trans woman - and there are differences between them. If THAT was your point, then ok.
Cisgender women make up over 96% of the population. Trans women make up a bit over 1.2% of the population. By relegating trans women to a "separate but equal" status, we see all manner of indignities, abuses, discrimination and violence. "Separate but equal" has never worked.
Lastly, those who seek to reduce us to biological limitations also tend to disrespect trans men. Trans men are not women - and they generally find it very offensive when someone refers to them as such.
