It’s not white people who are calling out Dave Chappelle for his appallingly transphobic special. It’s trans people.
It’s perfectly logical that Black people talk about race, stand up against racism and push back against white entitlement.
Why is it ok to attack trans people?
Why are we, trans folk, not allowed to talk about gender variance, to stand up to transphobia and to push back against cis male entitlement?
Dave Chappelle has never said anything about race that I’ve disagreed with. He knows the subject. He lives it. But he knows nothing about the trans experience, and all he does is repeat deeply transphobic talking points.
He conflates trans people with white people. Many, many Black trans women are outraged. This Hispanic trans woman is outraged.
