I loved SATC. I avidly watched every episode with my then spouse. It would be over ten years later when I finally transitioned, but this show was one of those windows into the life I wished to lead. Not NYC, not the glamour… (although yes, the shoes!). But being a woman, unafraid, stumbling and learning, and always held by fierce friends.

I have that, now. I feel so blessed.

And yes to the broadening of standards — I thought I needed a tall cowboy type, or a very feminine latina. I fell in love with a 5ft. tall Asian non-binary who was the love of my life.

PS: I was also rooting for Aidan. 😊
