Have you ever stopped to ask yourself what it means when someone in a position of power tells you who they admire?

When you hear a public figure praise someone, you get a peek behind the curtain at their values, their worldview, and what they see as worthy of celebration. But what if those figures are dictators, mass murderers, and misogynists? Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump, JD Vance, and their supporters have shown you, time and time again, who they are by praising the worst people. Why haven’t we believed them?
